When prompted, this company immediately thought of leaving planet Earth and how the different surroundings would force them to leave everything that is normal. This concept will encourage the traveller to ‘feel’, as supposed to ‘see’, making the experience particularly special.

This year’s bedroom areas will be designed by Shaun Clarkson

Shaun Clarkson is one of the pioneers of modern UK hospitality design. Shaun’s early work included the infamous RAW club, Atlantic Bar and Denim. Other early design included experiential work for Absolut vodka and seminal venues for leading UK operators. These early examples became a blueprint for the modern bar and club culture we know today. As the sector has matured, Shaun Clarkson ID has diversified into hotel, restaurant, café and deli design, with all design work retaining a touch of glamour. Current projects include Harvey Nichols store and restaurants in London, a private residence in Riyadh and several boutique hotel and restaurant projects around the UK.

About the Sleepotel design

Shaun Clarkson has brought his glamorous approach to the Sleepotel project with a conceptual “Middle East meets West” take on a Bedouin tent. He explains: “ A hotel room should be an inspired escape of comfort and luxury. Not just a home away from home, but better! By integrating all the features you would expect in your hotel, we have distracted the customer away from the humdrum to concentrate on the bigger picture of rest and relaxation. Our room encapsulates the guest in a gentle tented environment that would be equally at home in a big city as it would in the desert.

Exclusive Ghaf Gallery Installation

Interiors UAE will exclusively display some of the artworks from the Ghaf Gallery, Abu Dhabi.

Ghaf Art Gallery, established in 2006, is Abu Dhabi's first dedicated art gallery. Owned by a two of unique individuals who are united in purpose, the gallery aims to cultivate the growth and development of the capital's art scene by offering exhibiting opportunities to new, local talent eager to reach an attentive audience.

The following artists works will be displayed:

Jalal Luqman    Reputed to be one of the most provocative Emirati Artists, he has managed to mystify his followers not only by the subject matter he paints, but in the manner in which they are created. Luqman is the first of his kind to combine between metal and digital art, his limitless approach to producing art is reflected in his limitless style of creating art “If one medium does not deliver the feeling I want in my artwork, I will reach out to another medium that will”. He uses digital paints as a result of more than 7 or 8 different computer programs, before he embeds them in twisted industrial metals, to result in mind jolting images that transcend the boundaries of the frame onto the onlookers psyche. Jalal’s work borders between the modern digital, to the dark gothic sculptures resulting in his unique paintings that are confessions of the soul.
Mohamed Kanoo Mohamed Kanoo uses his art to visually tickle the mind of the viewer.  While his artistic foundations remain firmly rooted in the genre of pop art, he has ventured forth with intriguing creations of conceptual, calligraphy, installation, photography and digital forms of art. His first public exhibition was at the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt Germany.
Sumayyah Al Suwaidi My pieces normally are under the digital art category. I use photo manipulation and digital painting to produce master pieces of visual artworks full of emotions and expressions. Often my pieces are very feminine with the illusion of fairytale and none existing worlds. My paintings describe what i am feeling and going through, they are very personal and because they come from the heart, they touch the viewers deeply. They come in different sizes, from a 30cm X 30cm up to 100cm X 300cm and sometimes even bigger, printed on canvas, photo paper and metallic paper and framed in beautiful wooden frames.
Mattar Bin Lahej

Mattar Bin Lahej who was born in 1968, Dubai, U.A.E. He was never guided by any painter or instructor; however, the passion he had for this talent and for painting encouraged him to persevere in fostering his talent through continuous training, learning, motivation, field attendance and exploratory experience which made him reach some facts that enhanced the quality of his productivity.

Mattar Bin Lahej is an active painter, sculptor and photographer who has been recognized in the past few years through his participations in exhibitions both locally and outside the UAE, such as Abu Dhabi Art and the Berlin Art fair, Germany. Mattar is an accomplished self-taught & self-represented artist, who has garnered the attention of contemporary art collectors in the UAE. He is using his own technique that includes his unique way of brush strokes.
